We never know what we’ll see when we’re out for a walk. Then there’s the question of whether I’ll be able to get a decent picture of some of the things we do see. Will I get my phone out in time? Am I shooting into the sun? Is there another angle? Can I get a second shot before my subject moves?
This morning, we spotted this squirrel foraging on the berries in the hedge. I didn’t know how long it would be until he noticed us, but I managed to get a couple of very quick pictures. I didn’t expect them to come out well; I was facing the sun and didn’t have time to center the frame. I didn’t know if I had enough zoom, or too much. The result, after a bit of cropping, isn’t too bad. The squirrel was really focused on the berries. I’d hoped for one more shot, but once he realized we were there, he was off!
We’re definitely in Florida fall, with not a lot in bloom. We did pass this large strangler fig. It’s old enough that we couldn’t see any sign of the host tree it eventually surrounded. These trees always fascinate me.
