It’s a dreary day here, and I was at a loss as to what photo I’d post today. I haven’t had the opportunity to take many pictures this week. We got caught in the rain on this morning’s walk, and the only pictures I took were of falls on a bottlebrush tree. I didn’t feel like sharing a plant disease.
Then I remembered this photo of the plumbago in our backyard that I took a few weeks ago. Ken would probably pull this out if I let him; it grows quickly, with a spreading growth habit. It would take over that corner of the yard if we didn’t prune it back regularly. But I love the flowers. It’s one of the few blue flowers in South Florida. I learned that it’s also a larval host plant for the Cassius blue butterfly, although I don’t think I’ve ever seen any around our plant. And on a gray day like today, the color makes me smile b
