Bougainvillea

In a few weeks, our lush, semitropical landscape will be almost entirely shades of green, and have an overgrown feel, even when it isn’t. Right now, though, there’s a riot of color everywhere you look. I posted pictures of a royal poinciana two weeks ago, but now they are reaching the height of their bloom. Ken took us on a different route this morning as we were returning home from an appointment, through a portion of the equestrian preserve that we don’t normally traverse. We passed a farm where poincianas lined the lane, and the sight was breathtaking.

Walking has also been an olfactory pleasure recently, too. Orange jasmine is blooming and releasing its sweet scent reminiscent of orange blossoms. There are some gardenias hanging on. Sweet almond is blooming, and I understand why butterflies and bees are attracted to the odor.

And of course, I can look out the window and enjoy the vivid frangipani flowers, and walk out the back door and sniff their intoxicating scent. It all almost makes up for the increasing heat and humidity 😄

I’m really sorry, but I didn’t have a chance to look at the reply. I just saw it as I was scrolling my email. I was really busy during my holidays. I’ll respond soon, hopefully today! ☺️

    These flowers are absolutely beautiful!

I remember when I was in London last August, I photographed the gorgeous Bougainvillea flowers, and I was in awe at how vibrant they were.

Here’s the link to the photo I posted on the 10th August last year: https://asterisk15.wordpress.com/2025/08/10/bodacious-bougainvillea/
