I hadn’t planned to post anything today. It’s been a really busy day. I led a tour at Mounts Botanical Garden, where I volunteer. I hadn’t been in the garden for almost a month, so I walked through before the tour, to look for blooming plants that I could highlight to our guests. There were so many! I don’t take photos while I’m leading a tour, but I got plenty on the walkthrough, and I couldn’t wait to share some of them.

A mating pair

We discovered the pair of monarch butterflies in the butterfly garden who appeared to be mating. I’m afraid I startled them, but they flew only a few feet to another plant before settling down together again.

There was just so much color in the garden today!

The forest bell creeper is a beautiful vine that winds around an old tree and blooms at this time of year. There were some early blossoms open when I was in the garden last month, but there were more flowers today. You can see that bell is a very apt description of the flowers.

Somehow, though, I had never seen the yellow variety that was growing on a nearby jacaranda tree and was blooming even more prolifically. Unfortunately, my pictures of the jacaranda didn’t do justice to the beautiful purple blossoms, with the contrasting soft yellow of the creeper.

Every visit to the garden is different, and it’s always a delight. Today was extra special.

These are just gorgeous! How lucky you are to see these colors so often! The green and new shoots are starting to take over here. I’m excited!

I don’t miss cold or snow, but, living in Florida, I miss those particular “spring green” shades that show up in April and May. There was a patch of violets that bloomed each spring in the orchard across the lane from our house when I was growing up, and blue bells in a nearby woods. There’s nothing quite like that here, but I can’t miss those too badly when I’m anticipating blooms on our frangipani in the next few weeks.

      Have a great day!

Those gorgeous flowers… The beautiful nature becomes even more colorful when those flowers bloom. That was really a special tour! 😍

I’ve seen your quick note e-mail as a notification, but timezone differences (you’re behind me by ~7 hours) prevented me from replying. I’ll reply to it soon. ☺️
