With grandson Luke, 8 years ago

I enjoy looking at my Facebook memories, especially when they include my grandkids. Today’s were especially fun, because they were of my then-3-year-old helper, Luke, cooking with me.

I’ve written before about the importance of teaching kids to cook, and how much I enjoy having my grandchildren in the kitchen with me. The same was true when our kids were little. When he was little, our son Ben loved to sit at the counter while I cooked, even if he wasn’t helping.

So it was great to come across these pictures of Luke today. Even these days, if I’m n the kitchen when he gets here, he’ll ask, “ can I cook with you, Nana?”

He’s outgrown that apron and toque, though 😄
