Still Laughing

What makes you laugh?

For over 53 years, my husband has never failed to make me laugh. He certainly keeps life interesting!

I was leading a tour through the botanical garden for a group from our church a few years ago, and talking about the bodhi tree, the sacred fig, which is the tree which tradition says the Buddha sat under when he received enlightenment. Next thing I knew, there was Ken in his best Buddha pose!

Then there was the time that I had a sinus infection that hung on for weeks. I went to take a nap, and there was one of our daughter’s stuffed bears, wearing one of my tee shirts, waiting for me!

A fair number of years ago, we attended a marriage encounter weekend. The opening exercise was to introduce your spouse to the group by naming their most endearing quality. I didn’t have to think twice. I said that Ken’s was his sense of humor. I would still say that, although his love these days for bad puns and dad jokes raises some questions 😄
