Animal Antics

Do you ever see wild animals?

Living in South Florida, I’m relieved to say that it has been a long time since I’ve seen an alligator. We don’t live on a canal or lake, so when I have seen them in the wild, it’s been in the Everglades. The other advantage of not living on the water is that we don’t see many iguanas, either, one of the scourges of the area. I see them occasionally when I’m leading a tour at the botanical garden, or if Ken and I walk our favorite canal path, but I definitely do not take pictures of them!

But we do see lots of squirrels, and I love taking pictures of them. They will chatter at us sometimes as we walk, chasing each other up and down trees. We think that people who live by our neighborhood park, or someone who frequents the park, feeds the squirrels, because they can be quite brazen when pass by. They will perch on the fence and peer at us, or run along the fence rail just ahead of us. They clearly have no fear.

I suppose I could include birds and butterflies, since we see a lot of those, but I’ll save those pictures for another prompt and add one more squirrel 😄
