Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?
A principal at one of the schools where I taught used to say that taking a mental health day was a valid reason to take a day off. Even though I’m retired, most of my days are busy. I still need a “lazy day.”

But even though I might say I’m taking it easy, I’m still doing things. I’ll take a walk and photograph some of the plants I see. I’ll sit and read or work on my current craft project. I don’t consider kitchen time as work, so I’ll cook or bake. Maybe I’ll sit down at the piano and sing through some music just for fun, rather than work on that week’s music for church.

If it’s a take-it-easy day, what I won’t do is feel guilty. As long as we have clean clothes to wear, I’m not going to feel guilty if I wait a day to do laundry. The house may not be perfectly clean, but if i wouldn’t be embarrassed to invite someone in, then I’m not worrying about a few spots on the kitchen floor. Unless it’s an absolute emergency, I’m not running out to do any shopping. We’ll manage.

So I guess my answer to the question in today’s prompt is that I feel refreshed, but maybe not rested, since I’m not sure I actually know how to be lazy!
