About me

I discovered my love of food and cooking through spending time in the kitchen with my mother and grandmother. 4H summer programs were a fun way to learn techniques; cooking beat sewing every time. I’m lucky that my husband is an adventurous eater, so, as long as there’s no liver involved, he’ll try anything. Over the years, I’ve collected cookbooks, read a lot, and tried lots of different cuisines. For the past few years, we’ve focused on Mediterranean cuisine, both for its health benefits and its deliciousness. But I’m still a culinary explorer!

On a personal level, I’m a retired music teacher/choral director living in South Florida. I’m still active as a church musician. In addition to playing in the kitchen, my retirement gives me time to travel, do lots of walking, and work my way through my never-ending “to be read” list. I’m amazed by the number of novels that feature food!
