Yesterday was our wedding anniversary—our 54th. For the past few years, I’ve done a Facebook post with pictures of Ken and me (although mostly Ken, because I’m terrible at taking selfies, and I’m always reluctant to ask a stranger to take a photo) from the past year. As I was looking through my photos, I thought it may be fun to do a photographic year in review. Limiting myself to one picture a month is not easy, but here we go:

January

January included photos from a beach walk and some from the botanical garden, but there was no question that I would choose one from our visit to Green Cay. There were so many birds in the wetlands, but this anhinga was my favorite.

February

It’s always a good trip to Orlando when we can visit Leu Gardens, and we were able to see their beautiful camellia collection in bloom.

March

There was no question about the picture for March: this cardinal in the herb garden at Mounts Botanical Garden who was not ceding his space to me as I did a walk through the garden before leading a tour.

April

I took some beautiful landscape photos at Grassy Waters Preserve, but I’m partial to the shots of the water lilies.

May

We drove across the state to spend a few days with dear friends Kathie and Gerard, and their sweet rescue dog, Parker. Parker loves music, but this was her introduction to drums. The photo where she has her head on Ken’s leg as he’s playing was a close second.

June

I knew exactly which picture from our Danube River cruise that I wanted to include. While the entire trip was wonderful, I fell in love with Passau, Germany. I loved wandering through this art district in the Altstadt, and I’m particularly proud of this photo.

July

No picture completely does justice to either of the waterfalls to which we hiked in North Georgia. Still, I smile when I look at this.

August

Finally! A food picture! Cheeseburger bowls. Have I blogged about this dish?

September

A trip to Orlando to celebrate both Ben’s and Ken’s birthdays. I caught a candid of Emmalyn with Pebbles, the world’s most tolerant cat.

October

Equal time for Luke, although Alice actually took this photo. The ball commemorates the unassisted triple play that he made in his Little League game.

November

I couldn’t possibly leave out the otter sighting!

December

If I had to pick my favorite part of the holidays, Christmas morning pie would probably be it.

It has definitely been a memorable year. May we all have a new year in which we make new memories to cherish and share.
