It’s been a crazy week, and Friday slipped by. Yes, my Florida friends, that is a Ganoderma conk, or bracket fungus, and it indicates that the palm tree it’s growing on is diseased and decaying inside. Unfortunately, that conk is growing on one of our palms. I asked Ken how long until we need to have the tree removed, but he said it’s hard to tell. He did tell me that it’s likely the other two palms are infected. As a plant pathologist, Ken always says that he’s never met a plant disease he didn’t like. I wonder if he’ll change his mind 😄
